Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey! Angel Adoree has done it again with a third delicious publication.
I'd like to tell you about a new type of tea on the block, one that comes in a bottle (!), but believe it or not still manages to taste pretty darn good.
I wonder if like us you have been watching Nigella Lawson's new series Nigellissima?
In case you haven't, the Domestic Goddess has been presenting dishes that are not quite Italian but are in the spirit of Italian cooking with Nigella's trademark touches.

Yesterday we showed you some pictures of our lovely Jubilee tea. Well now we have eaten, drank and digested so we are going to tell you what we thought of the products.
From bunting to union flags everyone is getting ready for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, not least the team at Dormouse and The Teapot.
I turned a step closer to the dreaded 40 the other day. And so, it seems an ideal time to talk about a fantastic book I was sent to review.
As anyone who loves food and enjoys writing about food will tell you, it is a dream to write and have a cookery book published. As food bloggers we taste a little of this dream, we write and we are read (hopefully) but it's not quite the same as being in print.

We were thrilled to bits when our friends at ethical tea company Clipper asked Dormouse to taste-test some of their new flavours.
If you haven't heard of Clipper they produce a wide range of organic, fair trade, classic, and specialty teas, as well as a selection of coffees and hot chocolate. All their products are free from any artificial ingredients.
We tried five flavours in all and here's our thoughts:
Red fruits with aronia berry
Blackcurrant and acai berry
Very fruity with deep blackcurrant fruits. The team thought that this might go down well with children as well as adults as an alternative to hot cordial. They loved the gorgeous colour and fragrance of this too. One for winter.
All in all we really enjoyed our sampling were very impressed at the sheer variety of teas that Clipper offer, we particularly loved the rainbow designs they look fab on our kitchen dresser.

Green tea with manuka honey
A light, clean and crisp green tea ideal as a digestive after dinner, The team liked its mild flavour. Refreshing and calming.
Chamomile and lemonbalm with manuka honey
Chamomile and lemonbalm with manuka honey
The team were divided on this one, (after all chamomile is a love it or hate it taste). Those who enjoyed it said it reminded them of summer days in the garden, with light chamomile and lemon balm tastes with a sweet honey kick.
Red fruits with aronia berry
Described as a well balanced and deeply refreshing infusion, this was the Dormouse team's favorite. Packed with gorgeous fruity tastes of raspberry and strawberry we though that this would be lovely hot or chilled with ice in summer.
Green tea with enchinecia
We found this tea very strong with a powerful citrus flavour. One for the pot rather than a cup, as you might want to add a little more water to this one. Lovely lemony fragrance.

Hot on the heels of the popular Channel 4 series, comes a fantastic new book aimed at those who want to create a uniquely stylish handcrafted home on a budget.
Kirstie’s Homemade Home by TV’s Kirstie Allsopp is packed with invaluable hints and tips to help you design the creative home of your dreams. As well as experienced advice on how to go about purchasing crafts, antiques and curios to dress every room in your house, the book also includes a wide range of practical projects. There’s something for everyone from knitting a tea cosy to screen-printing wallpaper. Kirstie’s clear step by step instructions mean professional results are easily achievable, so not only could you save yourself some money but you’ll also gain great satisfaction from having made it yourself. It also contains a useful directory of contacts from antique dealers to craftspeople, not just based in London but right across the country.
I really like this book, as well as its beautiful photography, it's well laid out and easy to follow. Throughout each chapter you can hear Kirstie’s calm and sensible voice guiding you, but at no point do you feel her impinging her personal tastes on you, rather your own style is gently developed.
Having been a bit wary of attending auctions in the past this book has given me the confidence to dip a toe in the water and try bidding online. I especially liked the section on children’s storage having a small but perfectly formed nursery and a strong aversion to flat packed furniture. I now have lots of creative ideas that I can't wait to try out!
In my opinion this book is the next best thing to having an interior designer at hand to give your home a makeover. Highly recommended.
Kirstie’s Homemade Home is published by Hodder & Stoughton RRP £20 and is available from all good bookshops.
