Vintage fair in Saltaire

If you are looking for something a bit different for your friends and relatives this Christmas, then pop along to Saltaire Vintage Home & Fashion Fair on Saturday 4 December.

The event is being organised by our friends at The House of Rose & Brown a fantastic vintage emporium based in World Heritage village of Saltaire, West Yorkshire. It takes place at the Victoria Hall, Victoria Road between 9.30am, and 4pm. There will be 45 stalls of genuine vintage fashion finds and original vintage home wares so whether you're looking for one-off treasures for the love of your life or a show-stopping outfit for the festive season there's probably something that will take your fancy. From vintage handbags to glamorous jewellery, kitchenalia to old time toys, interesting books to vintage glass Christmas tree baubles, it's a Christmas shopping delight.

There will also be music from the 1920s to the 1960s to get you in the festive mood and with Interlude Tea Room & Emporium will be on hand providing refreshments.

Festival and tea with a vintage twist

The Dormouse and The Teapot team found themselves in Saltaire near Bradford this weekend World Heritage Site and the home of the delightful House of Rose and Brown and their unique range of gorgeous vintage goodies.

Sadly we were a little too early to enjoy one of the highlights of the festival the Saltaire Vintage Home and Fashion Fair which takes place on 19 September. As well as vintage clothes from the 192os onwards there will be a vintage style tea room, style makeovers and live music from The Red Curtain String Band and The Delvaux. There will also be living mannequins modelling vintage outfits, showcase jive dancing, a 'make a fascinator' stall and an old fashioned jam stall, all within the beautiful setting of Victoria Hall.

Whilst we were in the area we popped into Interlude vintage cafe which is just a hop, skip and a jump away in nearby Shipley. The cafe is beautifully decorated in vintage style, mainly from the 1920's but Dormouse spied some items also from the 30's, 40's and 50's too.
