London teas? Oh yes please!

12:01 am

When the lovely people at  The London Tea Company offered us a selection of teas to try how could we refuse? We have long admired their smart packaging, Fairtrade ideals and commitment to good quality teas so we were excited to see if their tea lived up to their excellent reputation.

The London Tea Company produce a wide range of tea, from classic varieties such as English Breakfast, Earl Grey and Vanilla Chai, to herbal teas such as Chamomile and Peppermint, there is also a gourmet range of inspiring flavours, such as White Tea, Elderflower & Apricot, Peppermint, Spearmint & Strawberry and Red Berries. We tried four teas in all.  Two traditional and two slightly more original flavours.

Here's how we got on:

First up was English Breakfast ...
This was a perfect cup of tea.  Perfectly balanced robust and bright.  We will definitely be seeking it out in future.  In fact we actually purchased a cup of this at our local Ikea the very next day and it was just as good.  Impressed.

We followed this with a pot of Earl Grey...
We didn't enjoy this quite as much as the English Breakfast tea but it was extremely nice.  The bergamot flavour was pronounced but natural.  We think that this would be lovely mid afternoon, we drink ours with milk (heathens) but it would be equally as good with lemon as it is traditionally supposed to be served.

Mid afternoon we had a cup or two of White Tea, Elderflower & Apricot ...
This tea smelt absolutely gorgeous (we kept opening the tin for another sniff). It didn't disappoint on taste either. The tea was light and summery with lovely hits of Elderflower and Apricot which complimented each other nicely.  Highly recommended if you fancy something a little bit different.

Chilling out after a lovely sunny day we tried soothing Chamomile & Lavender...

We are huge fans of lavender here at Dormouse and The Teapot, we have even been known to add it to shortbread and even ice cream so a lavender tea was right up our avenue so to speak.  We sadly are not usually big fans of chamomile but this has changed our minds.  Absolutely gorgeous with beautiful lavender scent and flavour.  Exactly our cup of tea!

To sum up we really liked London tea and felt it more than lived up to our expectations and we felt in terms of quality they were really good value for money.
