Dormouse and The Teapot's exploration into the world of tea, sometimes takes them to some strange and wonderful worlds into which they might not otherwise wander.

There has been a recent surge in interest in the theatrical; in vaudeville, burlesque and cabaret. The credit crunch has seen a rise in fascination in old-fashioned glamour, the 1940's, lipstick, powder and paint.

Alongside this a new genre of events has arisen, marrying performance with the age old ritual of taking tea - which of course never goes out of fashion- who knew Earl Grey could be so glamorous!

Afternoon Tease!

Time For Tease puts on events that combine a delightful afternoon tea with a dollop of burlesque cabaret in one scrumptious package. Tickets for Afternoon Tease! at Volupté near Chancery Lane in London are £35 this includes full afternoon tea and a table for the afternoon.

Boobytrap

Boobytrap is a unique foray into the world of lingerie and teas. The boutique which is based at 15 William Street in the West End area of Edinburgh opened in August 2008 as an outlet for stylish and sophisticated lingerie, swimwear, lounge wear and bridal lingerie.

Operation Homeguard

Visit Ingleton North Yorkshire on July 4th & 5th 2009 and you will step right back into the 1940's. Stroll around the occupied French market town of La Chapelle- des-Marais and watch allied forces liberate the village each day. There will be performances from Gracie Lands and the Ovaltineys, Dancing in the street with Liz. Sat afternoon ENSA show with P.E.Casper Esquire, Uk's number one George formby impersonator, who will also be performing in the square on the Sunday. Sat night dance at the Centre with the Starlight swing band and 40's music by Gracie Lands. Licensed bar and Stew and dumpling supper available. Sunday afternoon tea dance. Trade stalls, military vehicles, re-encators, military cadets. Camp site available for MVT members and re-enactors. The Battle of Britain flypast (TBC).
