Charity Dementia UK is holding a fund raising event Time for a Cuppa on 7 February.
The national charity supports the development of Admiral Nurses, specialist dementia nurses and offers both practical and emotional support to people affected by dementia. They are inviting individuals and organisations to host a fund raising tea party in their own home or business premises. It really is as simple as inviting round some friends, making a cuppa and putting out some delicious cakes. They have even provided a range of delicious 'cuppa cake' recipes for you to try.
Time for a Cuppa day gives everyone affected by dementia the chance to break down barriers, to talk about and raise awareness of this illness. It also gives you the opportunity to support the vital work of the charity by fundraising! Dementia UK relies completely on voluntary donations, so your support really will make a difference.
£60 will provide training to 2 members of Uniting Carers to equip them with the skills needed to share their experiences with professionals or to talk to the media in order to raise awareness of carers needs
